Welcome to Magic Quill AI! We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our app.

🔒 Information We Collect

CHILDREN'S DATA: For users under 13, we collect only the minimum information necessary: child's first name for personalization, grade level, story preferences, and reading progress. We do not collect last names, photos, or other personal identifiers from children.

DEVICE INFORMATION: We collect anonymized device information (device model, OS version, screen size, timezone, language) to prevent trial abuse. This information is hashed and cannot identify your child personally. See 'Fraud Prevention & Device Information' section for details.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES: We use trusted third-party services for authentication, data storage, subscription management, and story generation. Story content sent to AI services contains no personal information.

PARENT DATA: For parents/guardians, we collect email address for account verification and subscription management. All account controls remain with the parent.

⚙️ How We Use Your Information

CHILDREN'S DATA USAGE: First names are used only for story personalization. Grade level and preferences are used only to generate age-appropriate stories. Reading progress helps track educational goals. No data is used for advertising or marketing to children.

DATA RETENTION: Children's data is deleted within 30 days of account closure. Parents can request immediate deletion by contacting privacy@magicquillai.com.

NO SELLING OR SHARING: We never sell children's data. Third-party services process data only as necessary for app functionality under strict privacy agreements.

🔐 Fraud Prevention & Device Information

TRIAL ABUSE PREVENTION: To prevent misuse of free trials, we collect anonymized device information including device model, operating system version, screen size, timezone, and language settings. This data is combined and hashed (encrypted) to create a unique device fingerprint that cannot be traced back to you personally.

WHY WE COLLECT THIS: Device fingerprints help us detect if the same device is being used to create multiple accounts to abuse free trial periods. This protects our service and honest users.

WHAT WE DO WITH IT: Device fingerprints are stored securely in Firebase and are only used to count trial attempts per device. We do NOT use this information for advertising, tracking across apps, or any other purpose.

RETENTION: Device fingerprints are retained for fraud prevention purposes. Parents can request deletion by contacting privacy@magicquillai.com.

NO PERSONAL DATA: The device fingerprint does NOT contain your name, email, location, or any personally identifiable information. It is a one-way hash that cannot be reversed.
